Tell us about yourself and your family?

I am a Paso Robles girl all the way. I was born and raised here. My dad is a welder and my mom went to beauty school; they now own Powdercoating USA. I have a little brother named Bradley. By little, I mean five years younger; he’s several inches taller than me now. Bradley is the manager of Powdercoating USA. I am married to my amazing husband Cesar. We have been together for twelve years and married for two. Cesar is a financial analyst for CAPSLO. We live in a 1950’s gingerbread house with our cat Tilly. We enjoy listening to music, cooking, visiting Cambria, and watching animal documentaries.

What are your classroom strengths?

My classroom strength is unit planning. I love putting together themed art projects, books, songs, and group time activities. It is so much fun! My favorite themes to teach are “Dr. Seuss is on the Loose,” farm animals, and insects.

What are some favorite things about working with young children and/or what keeps you passionate motivated about this field?

My favorite thing about working with young children is their curiosity and ever-intriguing questions. “Ms. Brittney, why does your hair always look the same?” “Ms. Brittney, where is your mom?” I love having conversations with my kiddos about everything from chocolate cereal to new shoes to favorite types of insects. Every day, there are new opportunities for us to get to know each other and connect. My students make me smile, laugh, and cry. My hope is that I make a lasting impact on them as well.
